Crash Into Me

"First flashed the lightening and then roared the thunder, a siren's call will pull you under. A perfect rapture of turmoil and bliss, souls are lost to a siren's kiss."

The captain delivered rhetorical soliloquies to an angry sea. Turbulent waves swallowed up the compartments one by one. The bow gave way one slash at a time allowing the water to fill each void.

"The water level rises in a matter of hours; the sea-unapologetic in all she devours. The clouds gather and roll in menacing form, the siren delights in a deafening storm."

The captain finds courage in the bottom of a bottle, his saline tears empty on the throttle. The stern starts to dip and fight the unknown. The echoes of laughter and moonlit conversations washed away from the deck with each crash and blow.

"Surrender my love to this twist of fate, give yourself over before it's too late. The siren's lips extract your last breath, liquid in your lungs-welcoming death'

The stern gives way in a perilous fight. The ship bubbles and cracks in the violent mist. The captain looks out into the vast night-struggling to see through the rain. The only home he's ever known has only ended in pain.

'She sings softly and sweetly as you float down below,
the siren's love; like an undertow.
Just to taste a love under maddening skies-
the surest way to a sailors demise'

Under the ocean, below violent waves, the captain and his siren meet coral graves.
