As I make the switch from field work to analysis and the actual writing of my thesis, I've been reading books and articles about "how to write a thesis." There are some good pieces of advice in them and I'm going to to try and implement a new strategy this week and I'll post if it somehow actually works....
Here are my 'words of the day' from my latest 'how to write book':
- Specious: "Having deceptive attraction or allure"
- Used to describe all of the excuses that I (and apparently many other academics) use to avoid writing.
- Prolific: "Marked by abundant inventiveness or productivity"
- The type of writer I am trying to become: a "prolific writer" - one that generates an abundance of creative ideas and written pages... sounds like a thesis to me!
