Everyone and their cousin might've seen this already, but JUST IN CASE - Portlandia on Battlestar Galactica.

(If the embed's working:)

This is just a preview of the longer sketch that will include ( spoiler )

Oh gosh yes. That happened to me! There was a SYFY marathon on while I was in college, probably right before the start of season 3? And I stopped going to class or anything. I didn't start from the beginning so I had no idea what was going on, but I was pretty addicted.

Also, I find Portlandia really hit or miss, the bookstore sketches rub me the wrong way, but this is all hits.

Yeah I agree on Portlandia, I've enjoyed some bits of it but not enough to watch the show regularly. But this is pure gold. *g* Pretty much the way I marathoned season 1-2.

ACCURATE, TBH.

That first season is far too hypnotic.

And then Adama gets shot and you're supposed to *not* pop the next one in immediately??

i know!

The absolute worse example of needing to pop in the next one (and I say this because it was the first WTF NEXT DVD WHERE ARE YOU moment that I had) was the end of 1x04 where you don't know Starbuck's fate. SUDDENLY DVD NEEDED.

Wait, are you saying 1x04 and 1x05 are not a two-hour movie that can never be watched separately? This is news to me!

I skipped at least two classes when I was marathoning BSG, and I definitely was like EVERYONE NEEDS TO LEAVE ME ALONE SO THAT I CAN WATCH THIS BECAUSE LEGIT THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVERYTHING.

That is exactly how I felt. Nothing else mattered, jittery obsession and all.

Oh god. This reminds me of when I was watching the show on DVD, before I had become all ~internet saavy~, and I had to wait up to three days for Netflix to send me the next one. I was freaking out. After the s1 finale, I sent the DVD back, proceeded to bite my nails all day, and then went to the local video store to pick up the first s2 DVD. Never mind that Netflix arrived the next day. I HAD TO SEE IT.

And the biggest, craziest cliffhangers are between seasons! YOU NEED THE NEXT DISC HANDY.

(Amused because the people watching it live were waiting, you know, months and months.)

Yup, that's what happened to me, lol. Including a variation on the "There are no more episodes?!?" thing - because of Razor there was numbering confusion in my downloads, so I thought there was more and THERE WASN'T YET. I can't wait to see the whole thing.

(Although the Stargate-on-speed project still wins, I never actually blew off sleep to watch BSG. I'm just defective that way, heh. I definitely got LESS sleep, though. Actually, I might have. It's been so long and I've rewatched BSG so many times since then, it's all kind of a blur...)

Ah, I remember about the numbering! Of course I'm totally taking this sketch too literally, because I want to reach in and tell them THEY STILL HAVE 'THE PLAN'.
