I was going to copy John Deuel's layout from his post reviewing the year 2006, but I'm far too lazy to actually break down my year like that. I think I would probably leave a lot out, too.
Overall 2006 was a nice year. I started college at the best school for me and I love it in Aggieland. Also, A&M beat Texas in Austin this year, if you haven't heard. It was a nice addition to the Thanksgiving holiday and it probably won't happen again during my career at A&M. I'm savoring the victory until November 2007 (that's right Charlie, grin and bear it, sucka). I had a great boyfriend for much of the year and I matured a lot from that relationship. I also got to take some wonderful road trips with my best girlfriends and that really topped the whole summer off - and it was (bee-tee-dubs) the best summer ever. I loved Summer 2006.
On the downside, the Cowboys just fucked over their entire season. Sad days. Also I got to kick-off the new year with an ovarian cystectomy on friday. Last year I also had Christmas break surgery (an appendectomy) and it really wasn't too bad. This year they used the staple method to close up the giant incision located on the lowest portion of my abdomen possible. It stings and pinches but David is taking me to the gyno to have the staples removed tomorrow. Whoop for older brothers, especially tea-sips, whom we LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Towards the end of 2006 I have to come to realize that San Angelo is one of the best hometowns ever. No offense to anyone (Jessica and others), but I am so glad I'm not from the Metroplex or from Houston. I love San Angelo and often wish I could go to ASU with my friends here. I think the distance might be what keeps it so special to me. However, I lead a drama-free life in College Station (thank God) and I love A&M and my sorority so it would be too much to leave after such a short time.
I guess I'm off to continue my rapid recovery. The downside to this is I get incredibly tired super fast. For instance, I have enough energy to take a shower but not enough to dry and straighten my hair so I just braid it while it's wet. It's really gross looking. Sadly, I just can't pull off the crimped look like the ladies of the eighties.
