location: memorial garden canterbury cathedral
i am walking around a garden, tribute to the soldiers that died during one of the world wars. rare yellows are distributed throughout the flowerbeds, so that the garden glows with intensity. the loamy earth and abundant plants look so alive that i know they are tended everyday by loving gardeners. every now and then, teenagers walk across to a building reading learning center, and i conclude that a class will take place, and this is confirmed as soon, the walkers become runners, until when my meandering has almost finished a boy emerges from a gate and soon a beautiful english girl comes running in
and i think oh heres another one but no she runs to this boy and his handsome and unenglish body wraps around hers in a passionate embrace
their kiss does not last long, and before i turn my head from embarrassment (and longing) they part and
she sadly runs back to where she came from and they never noticed my mum and i
gazing curiously from the corner
and it begins to rain
