Hoorah.
Any guide as to how many stitches needed for the right size (Which I forget but am able to look up.) Cos I may be able to get some done for you.

Well, for me, it's about 30 stitches on 4mm needles with DK, but I'm wary of assuming that works for others. Just measure after an inch or so and see if it's coming up about right? We can bodge small discrepancies, after all...

Thanks...that gives me a guide as to where to start, which is what I really needed. Will see what I can do, think I have some DK somewhere.

Well - 30sts on 4mm works for me also... so I must be doing something right (that or both

and I are doing something wrong...)

Well I've cast on 30 st, will knit some and then measure and see how I'm doing.
I think is DK, it seems of a similar thickness to some that is marked DK (which I can't use cos I don't if I have any spare yet.)

That's as close as I get to most things "well it *looks* the same size..." :)
My ball of yarn indicated 33 stitches to 6 inches, so we shall see. Close enough for jazz...
