A Nicola interview EXCLUSIVE!
Back in July of this year madama_airlock and I met up and after the usual fannish fun, started discussing the viability of sending Nicola a couple of interview questions on behalf of this comm. We came up with 7 questions, but decided to not tell the comm about this in case we received nothing back. Lask week, we got the answers back in the mail! All 7!!!

Q1: What was the best part about playing Ruth?
Working with all of the brilliant actors who have been in the show and, of course, working with Peter.
Q2: Do you have a favourite Ruth episode?
I like her very first episode- when she comes tripping onto the grid.
Q3: If you were the writers, how early on would you have gotten Ruth and Harry together?
I'd have had him ask her for a drink at The George on her first day.
Q4: You were on the show for a long time (7 series). Did you get to keep anything of Ruth's from the set as a keepsake?
Peter stole me something from the set years ago and this year I have her necklace.
Note: The thing Peter stole in question was a colourful book on crucifixions that she had used in an episode. Peter mailed it to her later. Also, Nicola would have liked the shark toothed original Ruth necklace but it went missing somewhere along the lines. Thanks to bossanovababy24 for this information who asked about this after Di, Viv and Rose.
Q5: We like visiting Spooks locations when we're in London. Do you have a favourite place or spot that felt atmostpheric and meaningful to you?
From this new series, the most atmostpheric place is yet to be screened. It is also out of London I'm afraid- it's Coalhouse Fortin East Tilbury, Essex. In London pick a bench in a park and me and Harry have probably sat there. Also from this year, the small beach on the bank of The Thames outside the National Theatre for reasons which will be obvious when you see the episode.
Q6: Can you give us any hints of projects on the horizon?
I'm onstage at the Hampstead Theatre till the 15th October.
Note: This refers to Di, Viv and Rose. There have been rumours of Nicola appearing in a bit part in Inside Men but for whatever reason she may be unable to mention it at this stage.
Q7: We all loved Season's Greetings, and noticed you had to spend quite some time lying on the bed in the attic bedroom, or sitting in the bay window in the lounge! What kind of things go through your mind during such scenes and is it difficult to stay focussed?
I'm usually listening for my cue line but often on Season's Greeting's I took the opportunity to get a good look at all of you.
