Why don't people like Ginny Weasley? I have NEVER understood the fandom hate towards her, and I'm just curious if anyone here feels they know the answer and would like to explain it to me...

what, for siriusly, very important issues

I'm such a shipper whore in the 'Harry Potter' fandom, but weirdly enough only ship Harry and Ginny with eachother. I can abstractly understand the hate from the Harry/Hermione camp (which I'm glad I was never a part of, if only purely so I didn't have to suffer through yet another ship sinking), as I am still shipping pairings where I don't like the third option - but that's usually because I don't like said character, rather than just hating on the other person because they were there.

For example, Lost: I'm sure you know by now my main OTP was Sawyer/Kate. I loved them, and absolutely despised Jack - but the reason I didn't like him because I thought he was a bad leader, kind of a Jack-ass (haha...I make myself laugh...), and was always doing the right thing for the wrong reasons - not because Kate had feelings for him.

But when it comes to Ginny, I feel like people hate her purely because she exists. I mean, if you read through every scene of hers in the books, there is really nothing to not like. Yeah, she annoyed Harry with her embarrassing crush and actions early on, but she was like ten/eleven years old, so no one can really crucify her for that without looking like an idiot. Then later on, she turns awesome. She's happy and loud (something I have in common with her :P), and basically tells Harry to get over himself in OotP. So she's AWESOME, in my opinion.
