hello!

Hello all! Sorry I haven’t been able to write until now…..my aunt’s computer is a piece of garbage and I haven’t been able to access a website since I got here. So today I finally got my laptop up and running, but I quickly learned that my modem cord is broken…so I have to sit on the computer while holding the cord into the phone jack just to stay online. So I am writing this entry in Microsoft Word and then cutting and pasting it into the journal…..anywho…..

The flight to NY was actually pretty cool. Two big thumbs up to Frontier Airlines. They were extremely friendly, and awesome to fly on. I would definitely suggest using them for any of your future travel plans. After getting off the plane, my aunt and uncle picked me up from the airport. They were waiting just beyond security looking oh so cute. Oh, I don’t think I ever mentioned that my Uncle Howie is a complete nut. He was wearing a surgical mask at the airport in fear that he will be the one person to catch SARS while being there. Yeah, and this is what I am living with for the time being….god help me. Afterwards, we came back to their apartment, had dinner and then went to bed pretty early.

Tuesday, I woke up early and went to my new gym….a Bally’s only about 11 blocks away. This place is about the size of a closet and smells worse. But they have the equipment I need…and I’m not paying for it….so I guess I can’t complain too much. After the gym I came back to the apartment (which my aunt and uncle had vacated until Sunday….they went to their house outside the city while my uncle is on Spring Break)….got showered and dressed and headed down to Broadway. I spent the afternoon tooling around the theatres and watching the general public….it was something I hadn’t done in years, and really enjoyed it. As I was walking to meet my good friend Stine for dinner….I saw a group of people standing outside a theatre waiting for some cast member to walk in. It was the theatre they are doing the new production of Salome at…so I figured it was worth it. About 15 minutes later….Al Pacino pulls up in his car….greets the crowds, signs autographs and takes pictures….and then goes inside. Now, I thought that was pretty damn cool. I met Stine at her office, got to meet her very nice boyfriend Mike….and then she and I headed into the East Village at had dinner at a cool Mexican place (yes, I left CA to come to NY and eat Mexican). Stine and I went over to her apartment after dinner and I met her roommates….all and all a cool evening.

Yesterday was an action packed day. I woke up early in the morning to go to the gym…..then met my other Aunt, Uncle and cousins in the village for lunch. It was nice catching up with all of them for the time being….and I can’t imagine the idea of seeing them too often. Never really that close. After that I took the train down to Broadway to get a ticket for the theatre that night (Urinetown, the musical)…..then took the train back to the village to go to a sneak preview of the new Steven Schwartz musical: Wicked (based off the best selling book about why the Wicked Witch of the West is “wicked”). That was truly an amazing experience. The songs were awesome, and I can’t wait to see the full show. If you have a chance, go see it in San Francisco next month…..it’s going to be great! After that show, I took the train back down to Broadway to see the 8pm show of Urinetown……then back to my apartment to crash for the night.

So this brings me to today….today, I am kicking it here. Went to the gym this morning….and now I have no plans. I think I need a day off anyway. I have an action packed weekend with my producing seminar, and I want to be fully rested for that. Sorry this entry was so long, and I didn’t really have a chance to go into many details of this stuff….but I wanted to catch you all up, and from this point….you’ll get all the details in the world. The LA crowd should know that I miss them all terribly….and I can’t wait to hear how things are going there….Till tomorrow….
