When I first saw screenshots of the newest Apple operating system back at WWDC in June, i was instantly wowed. Mac OS X Leopard, as it's called, is the most significant OS overahaul since the inception of OS X itself.

The old interface was nice; it was clean and well-refined, with everyone's beloved "Aqua" styling that is familiar to any Mac user. Lots of blues and whites and brushed metal, with smooth curves and a good, intuitive interface. And then we saw the new screenshots.

This is the default desktop that ships with Leopard, as shown in the latest, near-final beta of the OS.

Holy shit.

Let's recap: with Microsoft's latest OS change, they went from a jibba-jabba of letters (XP) to Vista. Nice, a vista. Looking at something very pretty from kinda far away. Oh yeah, they also tried copying Apple's Aqua interface by doing their own, Aero interface (which ended up sucking and eating way too much RAM).

Apple decided to take their computing experience to somewhere it's never been. We went from a very pleasing user-interface, to one that was more immersing and visually pleasing. AND IT'S IN OUTER FUCKING SPACE.

All in all, I'm very excited for this next step in Apple's evolution. The End.
