So I pretty much saved a life last night. A friend tried to kill themselves last night. I stopped it. Rushed them to the hospital. Stayed for a couple of hours until I knew they were alright. Fuck Emergency Services. I called 911. They said they couldn't respond unless they had an exact address. I told them EXACTLY where the house was, i just didn't know the number. I had to straight up google map that shit in order to find an address. It wasn't even the right one, but it was close enough. Moreover when the cops did show up to where he was they didn't do shit. Left like 30 seconds after getting there. So, i pull up a few minutes later and see my friend is in OBVIOUS need of help. The first thing I said was, "I'm taking you to the hosptial." Why didn't the cops see they needed help? What if I hadn't shown up? They might be dead today. I hope i never have to visit and ER like that again.
I will admit the ER responded quickly and did a damn good job. They were in a bed and seeing a doctor less than 20 minutes after we arrived. I wish i could fill out a customer evaluation card or something. I'd definitely give 'em some high marks.
