Update
Having rediscovered this journal as I tend to do this time of year, I thought I'd update my previous entry since I've watched a few more series from that top 50 list :)
1 - Now and There, Here and Then - a dark and moving piece that demonstrates you should never judge an anime by its art style.
2 - Honey and Clover

10 - Aria - OMG I love this show!!! I have watched all of it this year. That's 3 series and an OVA. It's trully unique.
11 - Kaiba - I'd heard a lot of hype about this one and it does live up to it. A very interesting watch.
13 - Tengen Toppa GL
17 - Shigurui
19 - BECK
26 - Gungrave - I did not believe my boyfriend when he insisted it was good. I was horribly mistaken. It's awesome. Pulls at your heart strings and yet remains bad ass at the same time. You'll remember Brandon and Harry for a long time to come.
27 - Dennou Coil
28 - Paranoi Agent
31 - Princess Tutu
34 - Baccano!
35 - Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
36 - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
38 - Samurai Champloo
39 - Ouran High School Host Club
42 - Nodame Cantabile
43 - Code Geass
48 - Mai-HiME
And still:
3 - Planetes - I think I managed about 7 episodes and have yet to continue it... the main trouble with episodic series.
6 - Infinite Ryvius - lol, I think I watched the first episode again. Becoming a yearly ritual. Want to watch with boyfriend but he's too busy to dedicate that much time to a series on top of currently airing ones >_
