A Taciturn Post

Well, I didn't achieve anything concrete today, but I prepared to do something useful, which is, I think, almost more important.

In fact, the body essay that I've been telling you about was the subject of an epiphany. Not an epiphany in the intellectual sense, but in the indextual sense. That means I found an alternative table of contents at the front of the Norton Anthology of Literary Criticism organised by subject. And lo, conveniently enough, there is a list of 9 writers whose work refers to the body. And so without doing any actual thinking, my essay preparation leapt forward dramatically.

And so now I just have to read Bordo, Butler, Cixous, Davis, Foucault, Gilbert and Gubar, Haraway, Kristeva and Mulvey. How unappealing.
