My birthday yesterday was very nice.
We had ice cream cake at work from Baskin Robbins & it was so good! Chocolate cake with chocolate chip ice cream. YUM!
When I got to Port Huron I picked up mom & headed straight to Chili's where Barb, Andy, Hailly, Alex & Hannah met us for my birthday dinner. We waited forever because we had a big party. We know now that you can call ahead, that's good to know for next time.
Alex wore his Home Depot Tony Stewart t-shirt yesterday & my mom was trying to get him to say Jimmie Johnson, he kept telling her no. But when I asked him to say Tony Stewart he did. LOL! Not even 4 years old & he knows what he's talking about. ;)
Mom & I shared the spinach & artichoke dip as an appetizer. I had the honey BBQ sirloin with mashed potatoes & cinnamon apples for my entree. Then mom, Alex & I shared a chocolate molten cake for dessert. It was so good.
I really enjoyed having a lot of the people I care about around me for my birthday dinner. I missed Megan, she spent the night at Josie's house to help her babysit her little brothers & sisters.
Alex had a dentist appointment yesterday & had to get 2 fillings. I guess he was such a good boy at the dentist. He was too cute last night at the restaurant. You can tell he really adores Hailly. He was cuddling up next to her in the booth. He calls her his homie. It's really adorable.
Hannah got ahold of the empty molden cake plate & went to town on what was left of it. She had 2 spoons, one in each hand & ended up with chocolate all over her face. It was adorable.
Barb made me laugh so hard when I opened my present from them. She got me a hollow milk chocolate Kasey Kahne car. She said that her & Megan saw it in Rite Aid with all the Easter stuff & she just had to get it no matter how much it cost. It's sitting on my book shelf right now because I don't have the heart to eat it, it's too cool! :)
They also got me a short sleeved green shirt from Old Navy that's got a huge shamrock on it. It's kindof a funky design with stars & smaller shamrocks making the design of the big shamrock. I can wear it all year round because it doesn't say Happy St. Patrick's Day on it. And they got me a pair of pajama pants that say Kiss Me I'm Irish on them with a bunch of shamrocks. The cool thing about the pants it that they have a button on them so you can fold them up into capri pajama pants. That's pretty cool.
Mom had my birthday present sitting on the kitchen table when we got home from dinner. She got me the hair straightener/curling iron that she has. I absolutely love that thing. She just needs to show me how to use it. LOL! Whenever I've wanted my hair straightened she's done it for me. What can I say, I'm spoiled! ;)
Kim & Johnny are going on the pub crawl tonight so we've got Mackenzie for the night. We're gonna take her to Marysville McDonald's for dinner & to let her play on the playland. She loves that place. We'll probably end up doing some painting too.
I've got nothing special planned for St. Patrick's Day this year. Jenny's going on the pub crawl too after she gets out of work at 1 pm. I guess it's like 12 bars in Port Huron & it started at like 9 am. They've got a shuttle that takes you from bar to bar. Sounds like a lot of fun but it wouldn't be the same doing it without Barb & she's gotta work today from 2-10 pm because it seemed like everyone from her work asked for today off to go on the pub crawl. Oh well, maybe next year.
Today is a big sports day for me. I'm watching Busch qualifying on Speed. Then there's the Busch race on ABC. Then the Michigan State/North Carolina game on CBS. Then the Wings/Canucks game on FSN but I'll probably watch it on Hockey Night In Canada on CBC. They were just saying that Ryan Newman who is on the pole had to change his engine & go to the back of the field. That means Elliott's on the pole now. Sweet! Poor Ryan though! But hopefully he can work his way up to the front. And hopefully Elliott can stay in the front!
On the 31st we're celebrating my birthday with the girls. Barb, Jenny, April, Jenny & I are going down to Greektown to Fishbone's for my birthday dinner. I love me some Fishbones. Definitely gotta get the Pasta Orleans. None of the girls have been down there before so it'll be good. Got Barb convinced about the Pasta Orleans just by describing it to her. And Jenny's all about the sushi. LOL! We might have to go across the street & down the block to the Greek bakery for some baklava & canolis after dinner. ;)
How rude! I hadn't pulled my bedroom door shut all the way when I went out into the kitchen to get something to drink. When I came back with my glass of juice, Katie was sitting on my bedroom floor licking her chops, with my bowl of cereal gone. She headbutted the door open & ate my breakfast! You evil dog! But I still love her!
I guess Jenny wanted to get me Barenaked Ladies tickets for my birthday for when they come to DTE in June. She wanted it to be a surprise but Barb convinced her to let her ask me before she bought them. Thankfully she did too because I can't go because that's the weekend I'm at MIS with Andy. Before the tickets went on sale I got an email from the BNL fan club for pre sale tickets & I was SO bummed to find out it's on the Saturday I'm at MIS. But that would've been a pretty sweet birthday present.
Last night during dinner we were talking about Bayfest in July. Aerosmith, Toby Keith & Def Leppard are coming this year. Andy was saying he wants to go see Def Leppard really bad. That would be a good show. I wanna see Aerosmith. Maybe if my mom can babysit Megan, Hailly, Alex & Hannah we could all go. It would be so much fun!
