Today
I'm turning Alex & Hannah into NASCAR fans.
Today I went over to my Barb's house because we were going up to the mall to do a little shopping & to have lunch.
Alex & I were watching Cup practice from Kansas on Speed. All he could say was "Where's da Home Depot car Aunt Shawn?" It was too cute. He started to bounce up & down in his seat next to me on the couch when they showed Tony doing some laps for practice. Then I was showing him the Target car because we do a lot of shopping at Target & he likes Target too.
Then Hannah came into the living room from getting a diaper change. She just turned 1 in August. She stood right in front of the TV & couldn't take her eyes off of it. She was completely enthralled. Then she stuck out a finger & said "Cars!" so proudly. It was too cute. And come to find out she's never said that word before. Smart girl!
The first thing we did when we got to the mall is went to the food court for some lunch. We had Burger King. Alex got a kid's meal toy that was the deer from the movie "Open Season", his name is Elliot. LOL! The poor deer only has one antler. It looks like a cute movie so we were talking about taking the kids to go see it.
Speaking of movies, Krafft 8 has their free fall movies going on right now. Tomorrow at 11 am we're gonna take the kids up there to see Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. I've never seen it so that's kinda cool. Free is good! LOL!
Once we were done with lunch, I promised Alex to show him the Home Depot cars so we went to the NASCAR store. They didn't have any Matchbox car sized ones or else I would've gotten him one. They only had the big die casts. But he got so excited when he saw them. I know what I'm getting that boy for Christmas. Home Depot NASCAR stuff. LOL! It was too cute because I was showing Alex the Kasey Kahne car that was right by Tony's, Hannah was sitting in the stroller & she pointed at all the die casts in the display counter & said "Cars!" I could just eat that girl up with a spoon!
After we were done in the NASCAR store we went to Old Navy. Barb had to exchange a shirt that she got for Hannah that was too small. Plus we went to the clearance section to get some stuff for Megan to wear while they're in Florida. She got some really cute stuff. There was this stripped polo shirt, a pink tank that she had on underneath & a pair of brown capris that I really liked on her. She looked really adorable in it.
Our final stop at the mall was Target. Barb had to get some juice for the kids & some diapers for Hannah. It was raining pretty good when we got outside. We got pretty wet & we were parked like the 3rd space from the door. When we got back to the house we had Andy come out with the umbrella to bring the kids in because Hannah had fallen asleep while in Target.
While Barb unpacked the bags from the mall & Megan tried on her clothes she got from Old Navy for Andy, Alex & I watched the Busch race in the living room. Barb ended up asking me what channel the race is on tomorrow afternoon because she just knows Alex is gonna ask to see the Home Depot car. I've created a monster, but ya gotta love it! He kept asking me today where the Home Depot car was today during the Busch race & I told him that Tony Stewart (Mr. Home Depot, as I explained it to him) is driving that car tomorrow.
While we were at the NASCAR store I showed Alex the M&M's cars & of course he thought they were pretty darn cool too. Of course he did, the kid LOVES M&M's. What kid dosen't? LMFAO!
I ended up coming home to lay down to take a nap because the rain gave me a pretty bad headache. I only laid down for about an hour but I feel tons better. Between the nap & the tylenol that is.
While I was taking my nap, Mom & Mackenzie went up to Meijer to get some stuff before stopping by McDonald's for dinner. Mom let Mackenzie play on the playscape for awhile before they brought dinner home for me. I had a chicken sandwich.
Right now Mom & Mackenzie are in her room watching some 12 Dancing Princesses Barbie movie. I'm in my room just chillin' with the dogs. Stevie's sleeping here by my feet & Katie's sleeping up on my bed. It's too cute for words!
