The Joys of Live Theatre

Tonight the roll drop decided to take a leave of absence in the middle of the show. Due to the wind in our lovely outdoor theatre the roll drop caught on the main unit causing it to think it was fully out when it wasnt. I reset the drop 2 times to get it to go completly out. During intermission the plan was to correct the in spike so it would hit the deck for our last song with the drop in it. But, this didnt work as planned and the roll drop jumped its track. So we had to manually roll the drop out from the catwalk and then tie it up with ropes to the procenium and to the catwalk. Needless to say it was cut for the evening and our intermission was officially 42 minutes and no patrons left during this time but helped us out by applauding the  roll drop finally going out, the ladders that came in to tie the rope on through the voms, and when the artistic director got off the ladder when he was done tieing up the roll drop to give his 3rd speech to the audience that we were going to continue forward ! our show ran 3 hours and 12 minutes tonight.

YEAH!
