return to normalcy
Yesterday I returned dr4b to the airport, concluding a pleasant week and a half of hanging out with zml, rupes, rehana, bk1e, dvarin, and her. We played board games and ate out for lunch and dinner almost every day. We also found time to see the holiday decorations on 37th street, to take Zach's dogs for a walk in Emma Long Park, to watch a few movies, and to drink in the new year. D and I stayed up late and talked some, which I haven't done in a while. I will also miss having someone to hug goodnight. One could grow accustomed to such tokens.
Today I returned to campus, not expecting to accomplish much work but hoping to jar myself out of my holiday complacency. I saw foolmonkey, utopiatraveler, uhuh, Justin, Jeff, Maria, and Alison for the first time in what seems like quite a while. I actually managed to clear out most of my inbox and to take care of some adminstrivia. I have much I would like to accomplish before the IJCAI deadline on the 21st, so we'll see what I can do.
