Pretty much no one's on here anymore.
Ahahahahaha. It means I get to rant about completely random things that come to mind that make very little sense. Not that I didn't do that before, it's just now a lot more esoteric.
Note of the day (as I sit here trying to calculate things):
It's highly amusing that all the chemistry stuff I was rather terrible at in high school... is all stuff that I do as part of my job now. I feel like if I went back in time to relive high school, I would still kinda suck at calculus and physics, I'd be way better in English, and I would rock chemistry.
This is high school chemistry that I'm talking about, mind you. I think I'd need a pretty damn good base in basic chemistry to do a lot of things that I do now. Stuff you'd go through as a chem major in college... ehehe, probably not quite as much. If I'd been a chem major, I would have had so, so much less trouble in Chem Oc. Solubility curves for every single trace metal in the ocean, accounting for salinity and pH? By hand? Yeah, that was awesome.
Anyway, this mostly came about because I found I'd lost the calculations I'd done for making ammonium sulfate standards, and my lab day turned into a desk day when my supposed half hour of data work became three hours of copy pasta. I figure I'll get some other things done, my ammonium sulfate stock remade, make some more filter packets? And more acid washing. Huh, so clearly some labwork. Then the gym. Then dinner. Then jam night!
No seriously, I'm trying to make it today. It'll help with strumming, which is seriously what I have the hardest problem with. Fingerpicking is easy. Since when is fingerpicking easy?!?! Like, right hand fingerpicking, no problem. Right hand strumming, more problem. Left hand up and down on the fingerboard, also more problem. I totally know this is because of my training, where I basically lived off of 'fingerpicking' for 17+ years... but it's just funny when I have "Tale of the Tongues" down pat, and I still can't strum half of the songs I want to.
Well, that's that I guess. Off I go!
