The problem with covering songs sometimes

Apr 10, 2011 17:17

Right now, the problem is that the easiest way to play this song is with a capo. Unfortunately, I can't find my capo. And it's come to the point where I usually make up my own tabs, but my strumming is awful. Disconnect here!
By the way, I'm trying to play Crow Song by Gldemo, while incorporating both rhythm and lead guitar in as much as I can. I tried to do this for Little Braver too, but keeping in a bit of the bass. Gaaah, that was difficult, and I haven't gotten any further than the intro.
Maybe I'll just stick with My Song. At least that one I can play (though there's this D# chord that's tricky for me to shift to.)
Merfta.
By the way, that's just an expression. :P

*Edit*
I remember what my point was about the capo thing. I can't find my capo, so I'm not using it when figuring out chords, which means that having perfect pitch, makes this mentally confusing.
See, perfect pitch is both a blessing and a curse. Perfect pitch made music theory a breeze, and it's really useful for tuning things and knowing what keys songs are in and whatnot, as well as keeping on pitch. It's not as cool when it comes to transposing.
Seriously, I am absolutely awful at transposing. This is transposing, what I'm doing minus my capo. So now I'm going to take the instrumental of the song and push its pitch down so I'm not confused. Bleah...
