this weekend is worth posting about

First I spent it totally with three of the all time most beautiful and wonderful boys ever. Which is always good, and I loved seeing Carl because for the past few years it's become an annual occasion, and once a year just isn't nearly frequently enough. I still feel like we have years to catch up on, but I love the confidence that I have that he's going to be part of my life for a long time. Social workers need lawyers.

I went to New York City (although i did not see as much as I wanted to do there !HIGH RISES!), Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington DC. I went to all of the monuments during the day and at night as well as the holocaust museum. I drove through New Jersey, which is something I've always wanted to do. Yes it does smell like sulfur. It's pretty gross actually. The sky's orange at night. Although all the lights from the industrial parks are extremely beautiful.

I got to see where Dave and Carl went to school, it's always a good feeling to know where your friends are. I feel like they are both in really good places and are doing well and that is very comforting for me. I don't like to think about my friends out there alone in the big over whelming world.

I went to two museums in Baltimore..the American Dime Museum wa the first. It's a little museum dedicated to side shows and museums and circuses in american history. It was really interesting. Then we went to an art museum of artists who were all suffered from mental illness. I can't remember the name of it...but I probably will later when I'm not exhausted. The main exhibit was dedicated to elderly artists and it was so interesting for me because of my nursing home internship. I've learned a lot about older america and I got my supervisor at the guardian center the best books as a gift.

At Dave's school, MICA, i went to his anime club event. This was the first time I had ever been around kids who were like INTO anime. I knew they existed, but I had never actaully talked to them before. Good experience, still don't like anime.

I also explored a few other collegs, a bunch of housing projects and what it's like to live in the suburbs of Baltimore.

Boston is still a more beauitful city than any of the ones that I saw this weekend, because we successfully hide our poverty better than the others I went too. Baltimore and Washington DC are pretty much segregated cities. Baltimore's depressing. There has to be tons of spare rooms in the white house that could fix this problem.

Another cool thing that I was glad I did was go to the WWII memorial three days after it opened. Some of the panels weren't even up yet. We concluded that it was extremely difficult to build a monument to an event that included the deaths of like 55 million people and atomic boms and the holocaust...so it was hard to criticize its design. Morgan, Dave and I had a great tour guide because Carl knew what all the different designs and sculptureson all of the monuments ment.

The holocaust museum is really great (not the holocaust, the fact that we have a museum). Although I am pessimistic and reasonably informed enough to believe that if the circumstances are correct that the world would allow something like the holocaust to happen again, education is key to not letting history repeat itself.

Overall my weekend was overwhelming (it's hard to take in as much as I did all in one night) and awesome and exhausting and an amazing experience. I wish I was rich enough to travel more. I love traveling w/morgan because neither of us mind getting lost, wasting money or totally going out on a limb. Plus he's a really good city driver and I get nervous driving in the city sometimes.

I drove all night last night and then spent most of this morning doing my homework. I've only gotten a few hours a sleep in the last 48 hours and I haven't eaten yet today. I am showered, so that's a plus. I'm going to go get on that eating thing, because it hurts not to.
