I am definitely, absolutely, going to ComicCon this year. The only thing left to do is book the airline tickets. I have a 4-day pass, I will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will primarily be hanging out in line to get a portfolio review.
Speaking of which. I have 5 weeks to distill my portfolio down to ten pieces. That is, ten pieces of artwork or series of pages. Then I need to put this work in a portfolio. I'm not done spending money yet. I need to get images printed and pages scanned.
I think I have the Flat Webcomic up to speed. I'm can either, transfer it to bristol board and mat it, or digitally finish it and display the pencils and the finishes on facing pages.
My sabretooth painting definitely makes the cut. I just need to find a good way to put it in the portfolio. It's a good first page, since it epitomizes a lot of my work.
This image of
Gen X's Chamber is good enough to use, but I need to redraw it in pencil and update the style. Include a background and foreground.
The
Velocity storyline is good enough to include as well. But like chamber, needs to be in pencils, and needs to be revamped for my current style.
I really like this piece,
the snake charmer, and I will probably include it as is. Though the original was destroyed, so if I can't find the high-res version of it on my computer, that's a no-go.
Finally, if I really want to get a full comic done, it will have to be the Ashland comic, which is about 20 pages, 17 of which are completely laid out. So I would have to repencil all of those on bristol board before the 20th.
And that's it. That's what I will be showing at Comiccon. Wish me luck.
