"I know soon that someone else / will claim my new bike for themselves"

So the new chick on Questionable Content is kind of a cutie.  Too bad she's also rather crazy.  And her appearance in my new favorite webcomic coincides with my re-discovery of the electro-pop confection that is Freezepop.  I'm thinking specifically of her unique method of getting acquainted with Marten and Faye, in comparison to the lyrics of "Stakeout".

Which brings me to the next track, "Bike Thief", which reminds me of my poor neglected bike, still locked up at Matt's place.  I'm assuming Matt would call me if something had happened to it.  I know Greg sure as fuck wouldn't.

Freezepop also scores points by being one of the first recent bands to realize what everyone loved about the first couple Depeche Mode albums.  Though they're dangerously close to being a novelty act.  In the continuum I'd say they're right smack between They Might Be Giants and The White Stripes.

Interesting conversation snippet from about a month ago:

Jessica #6:  Yeah, I can totally picture you as the snarky record-store boy.  If hearing The Fall's lesser-known '70s singles on the stereo didn't scare them away, your piercing glare as they approached the counter to buy the newest Green Day single would stop them right dead in their tracks"
Me:  I think you might be onto something, but the thing about record stores is I think they're in the business of selling records as opposed to not selling them
British Matt:  Fuck it, I'd hire you straightaway.
Me: Wait, is Green Day still even making records?
Jessica #6: Fuck if I know.
