Weekend in Warwick
We're off for a weekend in Warwick today, which I've really been looking forward to. We were going to be accompanied by some friends but they've had to pull out due to a combination of illness and a death in the family. The landlady of the Bed & Breakfast place we're staying in wasn't best pleased when they cancelled, but what can we do? Maybe we'll buy her some flowers on the way.
Anyway, it's been many years since I visited Warwick, and I've never been to the castle, which is a must, of course. It's very expensive to get in but I hope it'll be worth it. The last time I went was as part of a canal holiday. I recommend visiting places by canal: it gives you a completely different perspective on them. Even Coventry manages to be interesting.
