The details on this role are beginning to come in and it sound like it will be some really good stuff, this should prove to be a very powerful performance by Reiko, I really can not wait for it.
Spoilers are behind the cut:
"Yesterday, we watched the latest cut of Life. A brilliant episode (written by Carl Binder, directed by Alex Chapple) with some great performances - and here I must make mention of two guest stars in particular: Sarah Smyth, who delivers a wonderfully nuanced performance as the struggling Annie Balic, and Reiko Aylesworth (Hey, eagle-eyed Lost fans!) whose touching turn as Sharon proves alternately uplifting and heart-rending. Great casting." *- Joseph Mallozzi (June 12, 2009)

"Some incredibly warm and touching performances in this one. Of all the romances, potential and otherwise, the Camille-Sharon relationship is the one that resonates the strongest with me. Every time I watch this episode, I always get a little, uh, dust in my eye watching their scenes. Kudos to Carl Binder who wrote the brilliant script and kudos to Joel Goldsmith who continues his winning composedly ways with a truly beautiful score." - Joseph Mallozzi (July 28, 2009)

[WRAY] and SHARON have been together for twelve years. SHARON is the party left behind on Earth while [WRAY] is the one stranded on the Destiny. They’re together, preparing dinner as [WRAY] discusses things that are happening aboard the ship and SHARON listens. Sitting quietly together in the family room, SHARON and [WRAY] discuss [WRAY]’s parents and the fact that she has not visited them because they don’t have clearance to know about her situation. SHARON tells her that her parents need to know that she’s okay.
As they snuggle on the couch, [WRAY] and SHARON share a quiet moment together. [WRAY] is a sketch artist and she has copied a photograph that they have hanging on the wall. It’s of a beautiful seashore in the tropics. [WRAY] notices that she’s forgotten to sketch the rowboat that’s in the picture and wonders why. At this point [WRAY] breaks down and cries as SHARON tries to comfort her.
After a while, BAKER comes to the door to retrieve [WRAY]: visiting time is over. SHARON tries to give [WRAY] encouragement to be strong and work with the other people on the ship to get them all back home. She then reassures [WRAY] that she’s not going anywhere. After [WRAY] leaves, it’s SHARON’s turn to break down into sobs.

# "One of the season’s highlights so far has been the episode Life in which Wray gets to return to Earth (via the body swap conceit of the communication stones) and be reunited with her wife, Sharon. The scenes are beautifully written and beautifully directed, [B]but it’s the performances of both Ming Na and Reiko Aylesworth that really strike a cord. Their stable, grounded relationship is as much in contrast to the show’s other dysfunctional relationships as it is to Wray’s austere, lonely existence on the ship - making her eventual return that much more poignant[/b]." - Joseph Mallozzi (August 15, 2009)

www.stargate-sg1-solutions.com/wiki/SGU_1.08_%22Life%22_Episode_Guide Having seen those episode details, I think what I'd say will be great about this role is that it will just show so much what the nature of love and companionship truly is by displaying the genuine, raw emotions between the two women. Proving that even though they are the same sex, the emotional and spiritual bond between them is as deep and soulful as that between a heterosexual couple... A truly great thing to see from anyone, so it's especially great that such a scene will involve Reiko. :) :)
