Reiko in SGU Season 2 Episode 4 "Pathogen"

Have just got through watching her third episode. She was freaking amazing as always, really, really intense and heart wrenching performance by her, her best appearance on the show so far.

What I really loved was how much more angst filled this particular appearance was and the way that such an obviously emotional atmosphere was created by the script writing and the acting by both Reiko and Ming Na. It was obvious that Sharon was upset and distressed about something, but trying to hide it. That really allowed for Reiko to really put in a great performance, she managed to convey the appropriate body language and facial expressions, she made is seem so utterly real.

I liked the way that they subtly wove in the idea that her character may be starting to have a drinking problem from trying to cope with the loneliness and separation from Camille, it wasn't over the top or in your face, but it was made clear just what an emotional state Sharon is currently in.

The scene where she tells Camille how conflicted she is about their only interaction being through the communication stone was absolutely heart breaking, particularly when they both broke down and reassured each-other that they loved each-other and weren't going anywhere. The utter devotion and intimacy between these two characters is utterly incredible, all of their scenes just resonate with such an obviously strong and deep love. There are heterosexual pairings on TV and in the movies don't even come close to doing that as well as Sharon and Camille do.

It's great to see that they are clearly not done with this character and relationship yet and there is hopefully quite a bit more to come.

She really was wonderful. Fantastic work.
