I found something interesting on Vimeo while trolling for other pictures. The composer of the music heard during the "burn" scene of "Third Man Out" describes his thought processes. To me, this video of the scene seems sharper than it appears on the DVD.
This is a major scene from Third Man Out starring Chad Allen, Sebastian Spence and Jack Weatherall. This was a really difficult challenge to compose musically. We had a montage of two same sex lovers making love contrasted with the murder of a man chained to a chair in a barn. We chose a pathos driven Oboe and contrasted it with a Bolero feel using drums and piano. This was a very moving scene in the movie. Kudos to the Director Ron Oliver for a beautifully filmed sequence. It was really hard but fun to score. Credit to Bill Buckingham my collaborator.
