So what's been happening with me? It's been pretty much the same line of things that need to be done versus the things that we *want* to do. As in, we really don't want to be packing up the apartment right now but we really have to! I think if we bring in some music and maybe even some snackies, it'll make the process go much faster inside of just one day of dedicated work.....except that it's nearly impossible to find that "one" day. A full day? Preposterous! I sleep when Miss works and then we reverse . I typically wake up around 7pm when she gets home and then there's only a precious few hours before I have to go to my own job--in that time there's really only enough space to eat dinner and maybe do one leisure activity--but honestly, it's the leisure stuff that's been killing my art productivity. I still have 3 remaining commissions from Anime Central from over a month ago, and this time I can say that it IS from lack of trying.

I'm in a bit of an energy trap. when I wake up, I don't have time to draw before working (or rather, I don't *make* time), and when i get home from work, I always feel drowsy and a might exhausted. It doesn't take much to perk me up in those morning hours (which would qualify as 'evening' hours for me) but drawing has barely been the first thing on my mind between running daily errands, trying to fix up the house, and attempting to pack the remaining portion of our junk from the apartment. I make the excuse that games are a stress reliever for me, but because I end up going overboard with them, it creates a traffic jam in my scheduling, which of course, creates more undue stress.

Funny thing is, even when Miss is playing a game of her own, that ends up distracting me too. If I'm sitting in the same room, then I feel compelled to watch her play--that's just as distracting! It doesn't matter if I have the paper and pencil in hand, the truth of the matter is that I could have had all of these commissions pretty much done by now....

And now I realize---the environment needed for productive arting is pretty much the same as the one I needed for studying back in school. While I can draw with a TV on, there's no doubt that the process is brought to a halt whenever I lift my eyes up. About the only kind of media I should have on, if any, is music. I remember back about 1 or 2 weeks ago when I was most productive on this one commission...It was a simple one, just a girl sitting down next to a spikey haired punk stereotype guy, both of them looking at the viewer. I had the biggest streak with that picture one hour before going to bed, with NO electronics on, sitting on the futon by the open window, letting the natural light illuminate the page. I know when I've had a good run when i feel cramps just from sitting a certain way. Maybe I bend my neck subconsiously while drawing?

Anyway, this is definitley something that's really been bothering me lately, and it may take the solving of other related problems before a path makes its way clear.

Oh and in other news, got a ps3. It's fun, it's badass, it's sleek, and so very Sony compared to the Xbox 360. They both do things very similary, and there's a few things I like more about the Ps3 over 360--plus Metal Gear Solid 4 gets better and better as it steadily temps me away from other important projects!!!!!!!
