Living in Hawaii is definitely an awesome thing.... somewhat lonely at times, but awesome, none the less. And it seems, more and more since I got here it seems like I'm living for the weekends and all the amazing stuff that can be done around this beautiful island.
Last weekend we took a bus out to the eastern side of our island (O'ahu, if you're looking at it on a map, or google earth, which officially rules) for a hike. O'ahu consists of a long range of mountains right through the center... you can pretty much see them from anywhere on the island, and because of them, i think they catch most of the clouds, which means it rarely rains on the southern side (the side I live on, and all the tourest-y junk is on).
We started out near a beach and took what ended up to be a HUGE hike. Once we got to the first peak on our trail, we followed along the ridge and eventually climbed a bunch more peaks.
From the top of the hills you could see out all across O'ahu. It was a really beautiful view.
I figured posting pics up here would be silly seeing as I put up 50+ pics of our adventure on facebook already.
Here's a link to them that you can see, even if you don't have a facebook or anything:
