It's that time of the month again....
Yes I have noticed that I post about once a month out of sheer coincidence. This leads me to believe that I am either very lazy, or lead a fairly uneventful life. Sources point to both, but I'm not complaining...
The burning question in your mind right now no doubt is what have I done during my winter break right? Right? Of course it is! Well let me enlighten you!
I passed (second attempt) a math placement exam proving that cramming and having a math major as a brother can create miracles! What this means? Well, I can proceed to take an intro CS course next semester with Ish to create some mad code[z] and be on my way to a CS minor. It also means I can't TA in Art 101b which is bummer though I do plan on it for the following Fall semester.
The next order of business involves valves, steam, and boxes (orange). I acquired the Orange Box on Christmas and have since been devouring its delicious content, much like cake (not a lie). After some wrestling with driver problems (never again ATI), I played through Portal 1 1/2 times. Now, Ish and I have been wasting untold amounts of time on Team Fortress 2. TF2 is an amazing experience in terms of presentation and gameplay. The art style and sound are different, and they work. If you or a loved one plays TF2 for PC, hit up "AgentNISH" and one of us will be glad to stab you in the back/burn you to death/shoot your head.
I wont waste your time telling you how good Portal is, because the fact that Portal is one of the best games ever made is now universal knowledge. Don't believe me? Shame on you! Have an nVidia card? Shame on me! That's because Valve is giving all you nVidia card holders a free demo of Portal titled First Slice! Check here for details.(note this is a limited engagement so you better do it ASAP)
