Hello... been a while yet again... well, surgery went well. Instead of it being just one hernia, they found two... So I guess it hurts twice as bad... But oh well... Godspell went awesome! I still ran lights, although I learned them the night before performance. They still went great, but most of all, I think the acting was awesome! Now I'm getting into Brigadoon, catching up on practices I had to miss due to Godspell, and also surgery. It's going great though, and last night I got to help Aaron with the set, which was a great experience for me. Stayed and helped him till 12:30, went home and worked on another scene to my James Bob play, till around 3:30... got up when my mom woke me up at 7 cuz she was taking all the other kids to get my brother from basketball camp... woo hoo! house to myself! And now I'm gonna finally post some of my play on here cuz I really need some critique to see if it's worth keeping up...

James Bob: The Defective Detective

Act I   Scene I

(Lights come up on UCS to reveal a tiny little office with a desk, a few chairs, and a couch, knocking is heard at the door UCS, knocking continues a while then something is pushed under the door and footsteps walk away, then, our "hero" pops out from behind the couch with a sigh of relief)

James Bob   Gosh! it's about time, I thought they'd never leave! (goes over to UCS door and retrieves the letter) Now, let's see what we have here. (reading letter, very "business" like) "Dear Detective," Dear Detective, (chuckles) sounds funny... Anyways... "We, my husband and I, have heard of your detective work from a friend, Mrs. Squealy, do you remember her?," Ah yes, Mrs. Squealy, so true to her name. I helped her find her dog Tinky Winky, who she named for me cuz I like the Telletubbies... But yeah... on with the letter, "Well, we are now coming to you, hoping against hope, that you wou--," Hoping against hope? Now how would a person go about doing that? "That you would consider looking for our lost dog, her name is Dora," Ah, my second favorite show..., "and she's a little chihuahua, I do hope that you would at least consider it, the reward is $10,000, and we wou-,"  $10,000?! wow... that's a lot of money right there!, "We would be truly thankful if you would help find our little Dora, and bring her safely back home. Yours Truly, Mr. and Mrs. Billy."  Of course I will help you Mr. and Mrs. Billy! Ha ha ha! (with gusto) I'm on a case! Let's see the world stop me now! (turns and runs into his desk and falls)  Oh boy, I don't know if I'm up for this anymore! (runs out UCS leaving the door open, returns shortly, sheepishly, and "turns off lights", and exits, closing the door) End of Scene I

I will post more on here soon, but for now, that's all the time I have, please let me know what you think! thanks! Les Quiero  ~Nick
