Yes! It's a long story, but I found out that someone proposed to one of my friends the other day, only he didn't do it very romantically, and so my friend was really disappointed about it because he loves him but he wants him to ask really romantically, and he said that he wouldn't say yes until he did it properly. But he doesn't seem to think that he'll figure it out for a long time, and that made me really sad... so I was wondering if there was anything we could do about it!
I don't know... it sounds like a good idea, though! I said that he probably only needed someone to show him, so I bet that if we tried to teach him, he might try it!
Do you think we should post a general question? I know some things about it, from watching television, but I obviously have no actual experience! --Oh, let me ask my papa first, though!
I'm not sure... usually it would probably be a good idea, but people might guess what we're up to this time if we do. Maybe if we worded it the right way it would be perfect, but I'm sure that your father will know a lot anyway!
Papa says that when he proposed to Mama, he said "There isn't anywhere to buy a ring up here but I love you and want to marry you, if you don't mind being mistaken for my daughter for the next six or seven years." I asked Mama and she said that what people usually mean about romance is candlelight dinners and roses and diamond rings, but because she was in love with Papa she didn't mind that it wasn't a fancy proposal! So I think maybe the important thing is to let someone know how much you love them!
I see! I thought so as well, but I think that Mr. Romano is a very romantic person. So maybe it would be better if we researched all the old-fashioned ways of doing it too, like taking people out for dinner and proposing under the stars and that sort of thing. Apparently Mr. Spain can be a little silly, so it's probably important that we teach him as much as possible!
Yes, most definitely! Mama said that traditionally it involves a candlelit dinner, and nice wine, and an expensive diamond ring, and you have to kneel down when you propose.
