W-well, that last virus was definitely exciting, wasn't it?! I never expected to go on such a long journey... but it's a shame that everyone kept getting sick so often. We're just very very lucky that Miss. Angie happened to be in our wagon, I guess! She was so amazing... she knew exactly what to do when everyone got ill. It was so inspiring... But ( Read more... )

'Inspiring' isn't quite the word I'd use.

...Wright's permission should be sufficient. There's no need to ask for mine.

((OOC: Edgeworth is having a moment of 'Oh dear God I'm no one's guardian. [retreats!]))

But she knew exactly what to do when you got sick, Mr. Edgeworth!

A-are you sure?

((But Edgeworth, your opinion means so much to her! ;o;))

I suspect our recovery may have had more to do with our guide's whims than with her instructions.

Quite sure. You'll be attending with a chaperone?

W-well, maybe... but I'm sure that she still helped!

Yes! Mystic Maya said that she would go with me.

To some degree, I suppose. If our guide had chosen to be any more merciless than he already was, however, her efforts likely would have been wasted.

Wright won't be attending, then?

Thank you for your confidence in my abilities, Mr. Edgeworth.

I don't doubt your abilities, Ms. Thompson. Aside from a tendency to exaggerate, which has been a habit of every doctor and nurse I've had the pleasure of dealing with, you performed quite competently.

I'm simply pointing out that we're incredibly fortunate the community didn't decide to override all of your work.

I don't exaggerate, Mr. Edgeworth. I'm brutally honest.

Indeed. Perhaps my perception is tainted by prior experience. Too many doctors seem to favor scare tactics as a method of convincing patients to undergo treatments which aren't necessary.

Simple honesty, on the other hand, is an admirable quality in your profession.

I assure you I don't employ scare tactics to convince patients to undergo unnecessary treatment. I don't offer treatment to them unless it is necessary, and I merely take the time to tell them upfront what could happen if they ignored my advice, particularly since we were in a time and age that lacked modern medical equipment.

Of course. Which was all the more reason for us to continue on; any number of less treatable conditions or events could have occurred, and returning to our respective worlds was the only way to insure our safety and reach more effective medical care. I was still entirely willing to follow your recommendations, which, as I said, could all have been performed on the road.

Mr. Edgeworth, with all due respect, performing my recommendations on the road would have been strenuous not only on you as an ill patient but the wagon as a whole, and therefore taking the time to rest was the best option, in my professional medical opinion. You are a lawyer, not a doctor or a nurse.

So you said, but I assure you I'm fully capable of laying down or drinking water in a moving vehicle. The strain on either party would have been minimal.

Treating you in a movie wagon would have been difficult, Mr. Edgeworth. Resting was the best choice as the time, for your health.

I'm still unclear as to how taking a few antibiotics and drinking extra water would have been any more difficult on the trail...but as you say, you are the professional where medical care is concerned.

Mr. Edgeworth! You shouldn't talk about things like that!

No, I don't think so...
