Shaftesbury Avenue Q

Don't say I don't give you accurate gossip: A couple of weeks ago I mentioned the rumour that Avenue Q's closure wouldn't be quite as permanent as it seemed. Yesterday the story got confirmed: The show's reopening in June at the Gielgud. I wouldn't take that stuff about the current cast transferring as meaning we'll definitely still have D-Boys in the lead though; I'm guessing it just means they've all been offered the option of extending their contracts. Especially in light of this video interview¹ where he seems pretty ready to move on at the end of this month. He also seems to be suggesting Fiyero in Wicked is a possibility (I'd be happy enough with that.) But if he does stay in AQ what do you think triomakesmehot? Will you be able to find the Gielgud somehow? And what about aka_kelly - she only likes to get interested in stuff when it's all over, will she cancel her trip to London now she knows the last night isn't quite that final?

Can you spot where D-Boys loses some Fantasy Husband points in that video? Yeah, those Sunday concerts that basically mean he works seven days a week. So he's only got time off during most people's working hours. So he's only available for sexytime with people in his own profession, or the unemployed, which currently rules me out. It does go some way to explaining why someone who looks like him is still single, anyway. I knew there'd be a catch.

Not to be outdone, Russell Tovey continues the Great Celebrigay Battle of March 2009 with a video of his own - answering fan questions on the Being Human blog and adding a little message to the fans while he's at it. In addition, the Doctor Who audiobook he reads arrived in the post yesterday. By the time I'd written my theatre review last night it was too late to listen to much, so I've pretty much just heard the opening credits. "Read by Russell Tovey." I have never heard anyone sound so excited to say his own name.

¹I won't mention who found that link because she's worried about coming across as an obsessive fan. Although in fairness I suspect Mr Dutch Interviewer Man is a bigger fan than both of us put together.
