If I told you I'd have a dream that was tangentially connected to Avenue Q you probably wouldn't be too surprised. You'd have a pretty good idea of what it was about as well, and right now you'd be worried about this post turning very filthy. Well, you'd be WRONG! The dream I had last night did indeed remind me of Avenue Q, but not because it featured any of the cast naked and sweaty. It was more of a reenactment of a line from one of the songs, "Schadenfreude."
Being on an elevator when somebody shouts "Hold the doors!"
"No!"
Schadenfreude,
Fuck you lady, that's what stairs are for.
In the dream I was in a small elevator with double glass doors. It was in some public place, like a hotel or shopping centre, and this lift was the furthest to the left of several. I was in the lift with someone - no idea who, but pretty sure they were male. Every time you pressed the button, the outer lift doors would almost close, but not quite. You had to press the button again for them to close completely and the lift to move. During the dream we had to use the lift several times, and each time as the doors closed most of the way, someone would run up wanting to get on. The person I was with would ignore them, and press the button again so the doors closed completely. But because they saw him reaching out to press a button, they thought he was pressing "doors open" to let them in, and looked really grateful - only to have the doors close on them and the lift go away without them. We both found this hilarious.
