Tiger Woods...Oh, and some stuff about my day too.

Mar 29, 2009 20:31

A little known fact is that I actually enjoy watching golf, when Dad's around to fill in the gaps that the announcers leave open. Today, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, played at Palmer's Bay Hill Club and Lodge, herein referred to as simply Bay Hill.

Back in the beginning of the day, Sean O'Hair had a five stroke lead over Tiger Woods. However, there was a rain delay of, I think about three hours, that screwed everything up for Mr. O'Hair. Suffice it to say, thanks to O'Hair's ill-timed water shot late in the game, and Tiger just being...Tiger, the game ended with Tiger's sixteen foot Birdy putt on the eighteenth whole to win it by one stroke. The announcers, BTW, were talking a lot about Tiger lor at Bay Hill, which leads me to believe that he won a fair few Arnold Palmer Invitationals...he definitely won one last year. This is what Tiger does, and as much as I like to root for the kids, it's really Tiger's presence that makes this whole thing exciting. Much as Golf is my number three on my list of favorite sports, and as much as it's totally crapped on by my generation, there is nothing more suspenseful than a come from behind win.

This was one of the highlights of a very good day, relaxing as all hell. I posted the Kamelot entry first thing in the morning, Skyped trek_west for an inordinate amount of time, had a fun, pleasant chat to innocent_youth, listened to Liam playing NHL 2009, in which we discovered that Mark Streit wares number 5 and Doug Wait wares number 38...Uh, Oops...I don't think so! And then of coarse the afforementioned golf suspense.

Fader down.
