Deconstructing a phrase...

"You're one in a million."

Regardless of gender, this phrase isn't as nice as you might think.

Let's say, for the sake of simplicity, that the gender division is 50-50. This puts aprroximately 3 billion men and 3 billion women on the earth.

3,000,000,000/1,000,000= 3000

So the phrase really translates into:
"Hey, I got 2999 more chances."

So next time you use this phrase, think about that in the back of your mind. Try to use something that carries a little more weight. Try:
"You're the only one."

That might make people really think they're appreciated
