[Drabble] Seven Roses

It takes me a whole week to go and visit Abby. Seven black roses (one for each day) in my hand I stand here, nervous and unsure what to say, while Jethro sniffles his way through the grass.
"He, Abs," I finally say, my voice shaking. "I’m sorry it took me so long. I ... I wanted to come earlier, but ... I ... couldn’t." I stop and pat Jethro’s head. He’s now sitting next to me, trying to support me, and I wish to be him. He doesn’t need to apologize for anything. He has these big dark eyes ...
Sighing, I place the roses next to the wooden cross. A single tear run down my cheek, while I curse the drunk driver that has taken the woman I love from me. I know he got what he deserved (Gibbs had make sure of that), but still ... it can’t bring her back.
"I miss you, Abby." Beside me, Jethro starts whining and I know he misses her, too.
Slowly, we turn around to leave, but I know we will come back tomorrow. With another rose. One for every day. As long as I live - and as long as there are black roses available ...
