Britney Spears Confirms Vegas Residency.
Britney Spears has been rumored to be embarking on her debut Las Vegas residency for months, and although an official announcement/press conference has yet to arrive, the pop superstar has finally confirmed that she'll be bringing her hits to Sin City this fall.
In the new cover story for Shape magazine, Spears reveals that she's been upping her weekly yoga and cardio sessions in anticipation of the residency. "The [Vegas] performances won’t be simple-they’ll be a massive party from start to finish," says Spears. "And to pull this off, I have to be in top condition and running at full speed."
Earlier this week, a report from the Las Vegas Sun shed more light into the upcoming residency, in which Planet Hollywood will serve as Spears' new home. Preliminary rehearsals reportedly kicked off early last fall in Los Angeles, and Caesars Entertainment is expected to unveil the full productions details -- as well as the initial residency dates -- by the end of this month.
The upcoming Las Vegas gig presumably added to Spears' decision to sidestep an encore on "The X Factor," which will return without the pop singer this fall after featuring Spears on the judges panel last season. Her fellow judge, Demi Lovato, has opted to return for season 3.
Meanwhile, Spears is prepping her eighth studio album, which follows 2011's "Femme Fatale." Will.i.am revealed last week that he'll be executive-producing the new full-length, after he recruited Spears for his single "Scream & Shout," which entered the Top 5 of the Hot 100 chart earlier this year.
