News Update: Son of News Update
I’ll give it to you straight -- as a new comic book fan, a fair chunk of Nick Fury's early appeal for me was the fact he didn't spend most of his career as hero dressed like a moron. Most of the time.
As such, I find it vaguely satisfying that Samuel L. Jackson just can’t stop laughing at his co-stars' costumes.

Because the concept of porn movie parodies of my favourite superheroes will never not be hilarious, Captain America XXX: An Extreme Comixxx Parody shipped last week. I didn't exactly study the press release (surprise), but I have to assume that it was made by a different company than the previous films I've mentioned here. Why? Because of the title format and the fact that Nick Fury is played by someone else.
This is what you've reduced me to, people. I now recognize porn actors' names. Porn actors' names.
And as a final note, the comic book porn parody genre is now sufficiently large as to warrant their own category at the XRCA Awards, as hosted X-Rated Critics Association. They have awards for that sort of thing. Who knew?

Jonathan Hickman gave a shout out to Ultimate Nick Fury in an interview about his new work on “Ultimates” and “Hawkeye”. He said, "Obviously, he's a different character, but a lot of similarities are still there. He's still a master planner, and he's still the smartest, trickiest bastard in the room. He's one of my favorite characters. I love that I'm getting to write him more.” For the rest, check out the article.
