yeah I noticed that too and I figured as much, but it was worth an ask. it just seemed a little hardcore to me to totally eliminate a community that's this active and popular, but if I were as dissatisfied with its performance as they seem to be, I wouldn't be comfortable with leaving it to continue on that course either. I seriously can't help but think this has to be some kind of joke though, because I mean, posts are moderated? so it's kind of confusing to me as to how they could dislike what they allow to come through and on top of that, tell us that we don't understand their goals for this place, in a way that has to be pretty insulting to anyone thats posted recently.
I hope the mods are considerate enough to, if someone wants to create another community, allow that to be known before they shut this one down. its difficult for those to ever be as successful as their predecessor, but I really do like this place, and I'd appreciate the effort.
but if they're serious about closing this down down down, and the demand is there, I'd volunteer to help try to start something new. enlist?
Yeah, that's the thing that doesn't really make sense to me either. If you have total control over what gets posted, then how can you complain about it not being what you want? That's the whole point of moderated posting...you control what shows up. So, who knows. It all seems a little elitist and obnoxious to me, which is sad because the idea behind the community is so nice.
I was thinking of starting something up in a similar vein. Do you want to co-conspire with me? I already run several communities as it is, but I don't mind adding one more if it's something like this one. What do you think?
i'd be willing to help if you two needed any. i'd deffinetly join and submit a few things.
i don't know if i'd be able to call people's artwork shitty and deny alot of it because it isn't the exact "nice art" the group was looking for though. would it be as strict as this community wanted to be or would it be more open?
not as strict as this community wanted to be, but at least as good as most of us find it at the moment, the same kind of quality of things that were posted here, but not, you know, just anything. yeah, specific huh. anyway, I'm sure if anteriority or I get swamped, we'll come running.
i'll post a link to a new community if you want to make one. this community just happened to get way too unmanageable and attracted a completely different audience than was originally intended. no hard feelings, plz, and all of us genuinely enjoyed some of the stuff posted on here.
still set on deleting, right? anteriority and I created another community - osculations - and I'm going to make a post for it, if we're still good and you'll let it through?
