coachella 2009 mumbo jumbo
im not going to the coachella valley muic festival this year. it will be my first year NOT going in 3 years. im not too sad about it though, because im a little sick of festivals in 110 degree weather, and because the line up is only so/so. the only bands i want to see are beiruit and the cure anyways. this year, instead, im working the door of the anthem magazine party with little natalie. it should be a good experience. we are each getting paid to boss people around, and eat/ drink for free. sounds awesome.
today, while shopping for shoes and clothes, we predicted what fashions will be popular/ annoying amongst the hipsters at the parties and festival this year. here our the trends:
1. remember a few years ago when track shorts + cowboy boots were huge? this year it will be gladiator sandals + flannel print. sure, three years ago i wanted a pair of knee high glad's, but now its gotten out of hand. they were everywhere last year, and this year they are even more popular. flannel- a no brainer. is just as irritating as track shorts.
2. ray ban wafarers (or psuedo brands/ shapes) are the new aviators.
3. feathered and fringed accessories.
4. american apparel lightweight knit v- neck tee's. all shapes and colors. with vests on top.
5. those fedora- type- derby hats.
maybe i should just wear my turquoise cowboy boots and black track shorts for irony's sake. or maybe ill wear my bike shorts and mesh tank to honor the 90's, or denim skirt and bikini top to honor the classics, or knit shorts and tee to be neutral? god, everything is so saturated that its hard to be creative anymore.
