I got back from vacation the day before yesterday. I have decided that ten days in a pop up camper with your family is way too long. It is not that we fight it is just that they are the only people that you see all day long. At least the weather was nice. Usually it rains two or three days and is really cold. It only rained once and that was for about an hour when we were driving to the campground. The state park were we went had site specific reservations so my dad got us a site right on the water, or at least what he thought was right on the water. It turns out the great lakes are down several feet so instead of having the water five yards from the camper it was about two hundred. That still was not that far though. So the first full day that we were at the camp ground my whole family changes in to swim suits and puts on sunscreen so we can go down to the beach. When we get there my brother gets in the water and my mom and I sit on the beach and read. A few minutes later we look up and my brother is about a quarter of a mile out and still only up to his ankles. Finally he throws down the floaty that he is carrying and flops down in to the water. It was so pathetic. To top it all off they had a rescue boat pulled up on the shore in case some one was drowning. You would have had to try really hard to drown at that beach and even if you found a spot deep enough to drown in your rescuers would have to carry the boat out to you because there was not enough water to float it on. Later in the week we went and ate fudge on Mackinaw island and another day we went and saw a fort. It was overall a very uneventful trip. Mom wanted to take me school shopping up there but they did not have any stores beyond mijers and Wallmart. That made me happy because I really do not like to shop. On the way home we listened to a book on tape and I kept falling asleep which made the story line very hard to understand.Wow I am really hungry I guess I should go eat something before I waste away.I hope there us food in the house I am afraid that no one has been to the store sense before vacation.
