Understandable. We haven't started on the best footing. But it isn't my decision or yours whether we work together, and to that end we need to meet.

I don't plan to interfere in your current routine, and I don't expect to become anything near your friend, if those are your concerns. [Lies; she's sure friendship would help but this isn't the right time.] I'd resent that sort of attention in your position.

The copier's over there. I don't know what use you might foresee for it, but it's useful to know in general.

No. [After that flood, and with this assignment, Naoto is getting the short, short answer for everything. But she showed up, and she's following toward the copier.]

[She opens the top of the copier and lays a page flat on the glass, corners squared perfectly.] This is fairly simple. One sets out each page and then presses this button. [She finishes the process, and a page starts to feed out.] You can finish this, correct? Or do you need further assistance?

I can do it. [There's a defensive edge there, but she watched every movement, every button and every paper placement because oh God the magic.] ...It's like the journals. [Sort of. Kind of.]

It's a little difficult to not respond to Arya getting defensive, but Naoto has to keep calm here: she can show emotion, but not get petty.] Vaguely similar technology, yes. They're both complex electronics, but that's about where it ends.
