Money has become a glaring obstacle in regards to this visit. It would definitely be managable if we split the cost of gas 5 ways, but as of now, the only definites are myself, Sage, and Ashley. I've tried to pester Dunn and Cakes about it over facebook, but they are worthless. Dunn has said he doesn't know if he can get off work, and i'm sure Patrick will have a similar excuse.
Make a point to harass them via phone, facebook, email, etc so that they'll put more effort into making this roadtrip a reality. No more pie in the sky nonsense anymore, we are college educated adults; we should be able to organize a booze-fueled safari across the South.
Dunn and Cakes are hopeless when it comes to something like this, though Cakes' new job is a reasonable excuse for not being able to make it. I do, however, know for a fact that Alex and Anne both want to come visit. By July, Alex will be back from Europe, so that makes 5. Talk to these people, and let's make this happen. I know gas is absurdly priced, but once y'all are here we can live quite cheaply.
For all practical purposes, I'm free any weekend in July. Let's start a real discussion about getting the five of you down to Georgia next month! For Serious!
I was honestly going to mention it, but I figured I'd just keep that memory for myself. I don't have to make excuses, though. You know how important it is for me to see you whenever I'm in town. I hope you're well, Katy.
next time we're getting drinks. no backing out. also, i am semi-well. are you well? for risk of sounding cheesy, i am going to tell you i miss you already and two-hour visits every 3-6 months do not satiate me. i miss long summers of happy things and the bullshit too. be good!
I'm doing pretty well, considering that my first week back in Milledgeville has been a pretty stressful one. I'm getting used to being back on my own, which is a decidedly good thing, and an adjustment that came faster than I'd expected. I have a revision of that story I sent you months ago. Would you read it if I sent it your way?
I too miss those long, booze-soaked summers of my college years. We'll be sure to get drinks over the Thanksgiving holiday. God, that feels like a 1,000 years from now, doesn't it? Oh well, it's only time. I miss you, Katy.
