(no subject)
so...
this current play aside,
i have more exciting
(sort of) news.
so i auditioned for Midsummer Night's Dream,
the director interested in me for the role of Titania.
For those of you unfamiliar,
Titania is the "Fairy Queen"
(actually this was for a double role, Titania/Theseus...)
(and i admit, Theseus is a "LEAD" role in its own right,)
(...but it's not as funny as "Fairy Queen" and it dilutes my story)
ultimately, however, they didn't
decide on me for the role.
but they did want my in the show...
so they offered me... (are you ready ray?):
"Head Fairy"
i politely declined.
(no, not "reclined" raymund... "declined.")
in between, i booked the show i mentioned in my last post.
then... i get a call.
they --do-- want me for the
role of the Fairy Queen, after all.
"Yay"
but--- uh, oh--- i have another show.
and although the modern play will be
finished nearly a month before the shakespeare opens...
still---i will miss much of two weeks rehearsal.
so---they consider my new schedule restrictions
and call me back this very evening...
------> once again---i am---not the Fairy Queen.
i don't subsequently feel depressed,
i mean, i do have another show.
and it's a better show.
and i gained a good story.
still --- my roommate malia
thinks a need a little cheering up.
so she comes into my room
just as i am drifting off to sleep:
"Fuck that guy. You'll always be my Fairy Queen."
yes i will, malia.
