The tale of my new laptop, or why I delay my gratification...
I think there is something seriously, psychologically wrong with me :-) I can delay my gratification almost without limit. My old laptop is seriously on it's last legs - bought it just before Patrick was born, so it must be almost 4 years old now. The fan overheats, the battery is bust, it switches itself off without warning, it heats up my lap to ridiculous temperatures. So before Christmas, I bought a new HP laptop, since i had been paid out my overtime for work. Since then however, the new laptop has been sitting in its box. I just can't quite get round to setting it up.
Why? Do I think I don't deserve a new laptop? Am I worried at how long it will take to set up? Do I think that I should let the old one die a death first? I am all out of excuses and now Alan has taken the boys out and I promised to at least turn the damn thing on and start setting it up.
So what am I doing instead? Blogging about it. FFS. Someone give me a kick up the bum and tell me to get started on it! More to follow....
