Promoted!
I am very pleased to announce that I am now part of senior management at work! I have the grade title of Vice President and can sign more bits of paper, don't get overtime and can get called back from holiday! To be honest, I am rather pleased and chuffed - this step up has been a LONG time coming, and preparations for the promotion (documentation, finding 3 business sponsors, briefing sponsors, being interviewed) lasted from May through to nearly November.
Today at work was lovely. Flowers from my boss, with official contract and card from the management team on my desk, then lots of colleagues coming into my office to congratulate me, then lunch with my "evaluator" who defended me at the regional HR promotion committee. I paid of course :-)
I have been on tenterhooks all week. I knew that the interviews had gone well and that I had a good case (perfomance, visibility, platform etc), but it is all a very political game and you don't count your chickens until the fat lady has sung and the official letter is on your desk!! My last promotion was December 2007.
Onwards and upwards. 2014 has been a good year - successful global project at work, marathon, promotion. What shall I do in 2015?
