Celebrating 23 years of marriage in an Igloo :-)
We're back from our Igludorf adventure, in Davos.
Back in the day (2005), Alan and I had taken Kate, Mum, Dad and an sledge to the Engelberg Igludorf, which was amazing. Photos and videos here! https://www.flickr.com/photos/nice_cup_of_tea/53459843575/in/album-1728665/
Alan, the boys and I had a wonderful time. The train journey was about 3 hours and we were transported to a real winter wonderland. We found our room (with ensuite toilet!), had a welcome drink, then our fondue meal. Alan and Markus went snowshoeing, Patrick and I braved the jacuzzi and the sauna! We all met up afterwards in the bar (which was in a separate chalet and had a wood stove!). There was a fair bit of faffing around until we got settled in sleepbags, with clothes for tomorrow at the bottom of the bag! We slept okay, although we all woke up with headaches from the cold. Then a steep snow shoe climb up the piste, before all the skiers starting coming down, and a lovely breakfast in the restaurant by the ski lift.
The views were amazing, we were so lucky to have clear, sunny weather. We were only away one day, but it felt longer! A different but fun wedding anniversary....
