text based rpg

so. on the gaming front. i am on 2 text based RPGs.
if you don't know what a mux is, skip this post. i don't explain it and you'll probably just get confused!
i probably shouldn't be making this post when exhausted, but i can't sleep.
if you do mush and you're looking for a new place, come check 1 or both out.
i might even tell you who i play.

battlestar pacifica
battlestar galactica theme, military heavy, chatty, obsessive players.
i swear, science nerds are way hardcore. the only people more hardcore are S/F nerds. thank the gods that this isn't a Trek mu*. someone would have to die for sure.
pros: creative players, wiki, staff doesn't shoot you when you +request and page (which i do a lot), nifty combat code, accommodating staff, you can make a variety of chars, no alt limit (*cough*), some really amusing players of varied age range, smart players, always someone on, they take abuse well. i love the air wing. come play on it. icons (heh heh), logs! oh, and i love the new advancement code. love. you can practice and be trained, and it has a realistic improvement stat ramp thing.
cons: people sit OOC a lot, there seems to be some sort of tension happening with some veteran players, being isolated on a ship is iffy, but we knew that when we made chars there, right?
misc: PG-13ish rating, which always makes me work to keep it clean. which is saying something about my sense of humor these days, wiki-wiki-wiki, forums, forum games, social RP heavy. how many times can you be boarded by cyons? seriously. now shut up and go brew moonshine.

sin city
anita blake theme, less than 3 months old, promising.
new game. small game. still, lots of players for how new it is.
not a single underage lesbian has shown up who wants any of my chars to dominate them, not even one played by a middle aged straight man. i count myself lucky. (embrace my sarcasm.)
staff is in transition right now. the player base is enthusiastic and nicely bent.
the drama keeps trying to reign supreme, but several of us happily ignore it.
pros: awesome coding, friendly players, timely character approval, news files on the web, no drama zone (keeps it down better than other AB games i have been on), people get tossed if they repeatedly make asses of themselves to other players, combat system is easy, chargen is flexible.
cons: new game, so not enough leaders are PCs, AB tends to attract drama whores (so it's always dangerous playing on one), chargen is just flexible enough to confuse some people, people are sitting in their rooms a lot 'waiting' for things to happen instead of getting proactive... baby steps!
misc: website & forum supplements to the game. super helpful players/staff. staff is in transition, not sure how the changes to files/approval sys will work out. a couple factions are without leader. possibilities are open here.

pretendy fun time games people.
hang up and drive?
shut up and role play.

if you wanna be on my gaming filter, let me know.
