2012: Year in Review
Stolen shamelessly from mmailliw. I've not done one of these in a while. Like, at least a year or so.
1. What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
Went to Australia and Turkey. Became an aunt.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I think I accomplished half the goals I set for myself at the start of the year. I'll likely continue to work on what I didn't achieve this year.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My sister-in-law.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
If they did, I've completely forgotten about it. I did walk past a bum in the park that may have been dead. I was too scared to poke him with a stick to find out for sure.
5. What countries did you visit?
Australia, UK, Greece and Turkey.
6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
A job that isn't managed by people who are emotionally four-years-old; money; a government that isn't full of assholes so centred on themselves they forget that they're meant to serve the people of this country.
7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
3rd August - my niece was born.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Doing pretty damn well at Creighton. Would like to continue that trend.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Failing to signal on my way to Taco Bell on 6th March. Man, did I pay for that oversight.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just typical colds and such.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
An education. My ticket to Greece/Turkey.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
IDK. My BFF, Jill?
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Congress.
14. Where did most of your money go?
The state of Nebraska, O'Leaver's, Creighton University.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
SPACE BABY (my niece), my trip, school
16. What song will always remind you of 2012?
'Call Me Maybe' made me wish the apocalypse would come early so I would never have to hear that thrice-damned abomination again. Also, 'Gangnam Style'. I'm glad I don't listen to the radio. The offerings of the pop world leave so much to be desired these days I feel sorry for the teenagers.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you: Happier or sadder? Thinner or fatter? Richer or poorer?
I'm happier - I've got focus now. I know where I want to go and how to get there, and that pleases me. Probably fatter, and I think I've got more money in my account at the moment than I did at this time last year, but less in my savings, and I quit my job, so I need to work on pulling some income again.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Saved money.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Spent money.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With the fam, exhausted.
21. Did you fall in love in 2012?
With 'Supernatural', yes.

I think it was just one.
24. What was your favourite TV program?
SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPS. Never Mind the Buzzcocks. I also enjoyed the colour explosion that was Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate anyone, but there is one individual with whom I no longer keep in contact.
26. What was the best book you read?
The Odyssey.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The record I listened to most was Conduits' eponymous release, but I knew about that band well before 2012. I don't know if I really got into any new bands this year.
28. What did you want and get?
Into Creighton.
29. What did you want and not get?
Rid of my tits.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
I liked The Hunger Games. Argo was quite good as well.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Got drunk at O'Leaver's. Ended up missing my flight to St Louis the next morning. I turned 29.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Punching Carly Rae Jepson in the face =D.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?
Unchanged from 2011.
34. What kept you sane?
Not having any mental illness.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
MISHA COLLINS. He was a late entrant, but he wins.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Congress's continued inability to compromise, work together, and generally not be dicks.
37. Who did you miss?
I missed my plane twice.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
HARPER MAE x x x. She is a very new person - only been on the planet for a few months.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012:
It was reaffirmed that I am awesome.

This is a list of my goals for 2012. I accomplished two of the goals quite quickly (getting accepted at Creighton in February and going to Australia in March), but then I slacked quite a bit on the others. I'm working on the Spanish, though, and I plan to take Arabic when it's offered in the fall (or if Arabic I is offered in summer, I'll do it then, definitely), so those are in progress. I firmly resolve to be less of a fatass in 2013.
